Local Storage Data
Page Modifier stores your presets, settings, and editing history locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your computer and is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
Webpage Content
When you use Page Modifier to edit a webpage, the extension operates entirely on your device. Any text you edit, images you replace, or presets you apply are processed locally in your browser and are not stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere.
No Personal Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, IP address, browsing history, or any other personal data. Page Modifier has no backend servers and does not track user activity.
2. How We Use Information
Since Page Modifier operates entirely locally on your device:
- Your presets and settings are used only to enhance your editing experience
- Your editing history is maintained locally for the undo/reset functionality
- No data is used for analytics, advertising, or any other purpose
- No data is shared with third parties
3. Data Storage & Security
All Page Modifier data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's secure storage API. Your data is:
- Never transmitted to external servers
- Never shared with third parties
- Protected by your device's security measures
- Deleted when you uninstall the extension (unless you export it manually)
4. Third-Party Services
Page Modifier may use the following third-party services:
- CATAAS API (Cat Images Preset): When you use the "Replace all images with cats" preset, the extension fetches random cat images from the CATAAS API. This request is made directly from your browser and may transmit your IP address to CATAAS. Please review CATAAS's privacy policy at https://cataas.com/
- No Other External Services: Page Modifier does not use analytics, tracking, or any other external services
5. Chrome Extension Permissions
Page Modifier requests the following permissions:
- activeTab, scripting: To inject the editing interface into the current webpage
- storage: To save your presets and settings locally
- host_permissions: To access and modify content on all websites you visit
These permissions are used solely to provide the extension's functionality and do not enable any data collection or transmission.
6. Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Access your presets and settings anytime through the extension popup
- Delete your presets at any time
- Clear all data by uninstalling the extension
- Export your presets manually if desired
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of Page Modifier following the posting of revised Privacy Policy means you accept and agree to the changes.

9. GDPR & International Data Protection
